In each of the academic areas students have flexibility in making their choices, which means they can choose subjects that particularly interest them and that they may wish to study further at university. (IBO).<\/p>\n<p>The IB Diploma Programme curriculum includes 6 subject groups selected from the six subject groups given below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Group 1 \u2013 Studies in Language and Literature<\/li>\n<li>Group 2 \u2013 Language Acquisition<\/li>\n<li>Group 3 \u2013 Individuals and Societies<\/li>\n<li>Group 4 \u2013 Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Group 5 \u2013 Mathematics<\/li>\n<li>Group 6 \u2013 The Arts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IB Diploma Programme students must choose one subject from each of the 6 subject groups to ensure breadth of knowledge and understanding in their main language, in additional language(s), the social sciences, the experimental sciences, mathematics and the arts. In case a student does not wish to select a subject from the 6th Subject Group \u2013 the Arts, they may select a subject (in lieu of the subject from group 6) from other subject groups.<\/p>\n<p>The 6 subjects can be taken at either a Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL).
