This has given us the opportunity to now empower our children to be effective in their personal lives and work, and don the mantle of leaders as they grow. Stephen Covey\u2019s 7 Habits are steadily becoming an integral part of our students\u2019 life as it is integrated with our teaching \u2013learning process and are a part of all school activities. As our staff has already undergone the same, they continue to support the children to practice and amalgamate these habits in their daily routine.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Circle Time<\/h5>\n<p>Circle Time is a weekly activity across the school for all Forms. This is an opportunity for self expression, sharing of thoughts, bonding and teamwork, inculcating school\u2019s core values of sensitivity, integrity, pride in one\u2019s heritage and pursuit of excellence.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Show and Tell sessions<\/h5>\n<p>Show and Tell sessions are an essential and effective medium to foster and boost self confidence, enhance communication\/public speaking skills, develop interest in a gamut of topics and arenas and encourage peer learning.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Discovery Period<\/h5>\n<p>Discovery Period is an exciting and enriching time for the children, during which specific time is set aside weekly to share information gleaned through various sources and media on myriad issues and topics ranging from space and earth to languages, countries and their history, geographies, people, plant and animal world and much more as per relevance to respective age groups. These sessions enable children to explore areas of learning beyond the prescribed curriculum, inculcate curiosity and enhance ability to question and infer.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Contemporary Studies<\/h5>\n<p>Weekly time is set aside to research, share and discuss a wide spectrum of issues and news pertaining to events happening around the world during the Contemporary Studies sessions.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Mad About Series<\/h5>\n<p>The school\u2019s annual Mad About Series is a unique parent driven initiative that aims at taking learning out of the confines of the textbook and making it fun and relatable while inculcating the spirit ofcuriosity and enquiry amongst the children. Since 2012-13, the school has organised Mad About Science, Mad About Science ++ and Mad About Heritage, Mad About Heritage Dwitiya and Mad About Health and Wellness, Mad About Creativity and Mad About Peace till date. The initiative works on a unique format with the parent community, supported by the staff, spearheading it and wearing the mantle of teachers. They help the children explore and delve deep into an array of age appropriate concepts and topics through use of multi media, hands on activities and experiments, dance, music, theatre, story telling etc. The culmination of nearly three month long preparation is through a day long mega fair, wherein each class has individual stalls and display working models, charts, audio-visual material, conduct live experiments and explain the concept and application to the visitors to the stall. Each child along with their respective parents have a specific time slot to be present at the stall, thus ensuring that every child and parent gets an opportunity to demonstrate their learning. Totally supported by the teachers, the children and parents take centre stage for this event. In addition, various NGOs and corporate that complement the theme participate in the event.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Book Week and Book Buzz<\/h5>\n<p>The Literary Fest\u2013 This week long initiative sees the school turned into a mega library. Children of all classes delve into the realm of stories and books and literature, read, write, tell, enact, construct, present, watch and explore a whole new world of the written word \u2013 be it prose or poetry. Story corners and reading corners are created throughout school, Authors, publishers, illustrators visit and hold workshops with children. Dress-up days are organized and new stories are created. As part of the event, a non competitive Inter School Literary Fest \u2013 Book Buzz is organized with events such as Poetry Caf\u00e9 (Create, Appreciate, Feel, Express), Book Reviews and Book Cover Designing, Poster Art, JAMs, Puppet Theatre, One minute\/ Reader\u2019s Theatre, Story Weaving and many more.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>The Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.)\u00a0Programme<\/h5>\n<p>The DEAR time is a sacrosanct time for children and teachers in class to pick up their favourite story book and read. During this daily designated time period, the children make the most of the in-class library which is a collection of books brought by the children to be shared and read by all in the class.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Literary Programme<\/h5>\n<p>To inculcate a love of reading in English and Hindi, explore and appreciate various literary genre and authors\/poets, the school\u2019s Literary Programme has been initiated. Dedicated time is set aside weekly for book readings, reviews, poem recitation, learning about author and poets and their respective styles.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Shri Explorers<\/h5>\n<p>Our week long adventure sports activities within the school for Classes Koshika (Pre Nursery) to V and outdoors for senior students, conducted by a team of trained and experienced professionals, is organized to encourage our children to overcome fear and apprehensions associated with adventure and sporting activities and to work in teams. The students participate in activities like rappelling, net climbing, burma bridge, ladder climbing, double jumaring, flying fox and zorbing.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h5>Clubs<\/h5>\n<p>The school offers a platform to students of Grades IV and above to engage in a host of interesting activities through a range of School Clubs that enable them to develop varied skills.
